How do you throw away a memory?
Started sorting through stuff to get ready for the move
Lots brought back old memories
Some I kept cause it brought a soft spot in my heart
Some cause it signifies a special time in my children's childhood
I got quite sentimental with it
After moving homes for 3 short of my fingers
Am quite good at giving away stuff
But some made it through the years
not getting edited
Maybe it was a gift from someone special
A special time
Or something that just holds a great story
Whatever it is
I had to depart with a lot of them
Always consoling myself
that it would find a better home
Not in a box of storage
but where it can make another child happy
As I'm writing this now
I feel very sentimental
Especially since we've lived overseas
I've given birth away from home
I raised my kids away from my biological family
These memories keep me in those special times
where I learned a lot
and matured into what I am today
Through all the bittersweet emotion
I have to let go
As I have to be unselfish
and make them useful to someone else
And if I want to go forward
then I have to learn to not always look backward
Future's bright
Even for these toys
Keep spreading joy
Thanks for the memories

Garden variety
Motions
This was me last Monday
It's only Thursday but so many things have happened
that Monday seems such a long time ago
Went over to a client's place
So excited to design a young lady's bedroom
Had afternoon snack with my neighbor, Anna
Catching up over pizza and croissant
Cool day
Thing is don't you think that time goes by so fast?
I don't remember it like this when I was younger
Is it age, is it the busyness or
is the world really moving faster as it used to?
I know several people
going through a lot lately
Whatever it is
we should value our time here
We should make everyday the best day
Get rid of baggages or ill feelings
And be always thankful for what we have
I was in Santi's yesterday
Am a regular so sales people are very friendly to me
They were asking me yesterday how
I always look the way I do
And how I've maintained that youth
despite my 4 decades on earth
I always tell people
Aside from the usual use of sunblock
moisturizer, Cetaphil
Lots of water and good sleep
I don't dwell on concerns or challenges in life
I do my best and as cliche as it sounds
Let God do the rest
Dwelling on something won't solve the problem
Be proactive then have faith
Life's good
Never lose the lesson
But more importantly
Never lose your humor
when handling it
Enjoy the rest of the week!

top from Bossini, more than a decade old, skirt : Folded & Hung, bag : Isaac Mizrahi for Target
This was me yesterday
Again the great chaperone
Was looking forward to a quiet Saturday
but I guess that's not possible
Reason why I oftentimes write if something's old
is to prove that if you take care of your things
even when they're not expensive, they will last
Oh yeah, for delicate clothes, use Perwoll
My eldest went to paintball camp
while I have to chaperone the other one
to tennis class
In between, I was going around home depot
and Rockwell
And no, I haven't been shopping for myself
I gotta say, the hardware store shopping
has taken my appetite for clothes, etc
My husband accompanied me to the store
showed him the tiles I chose
Man, he needed to disapprove of some
I wanted one bathroom to be feminine
He had to intercept
Am supposed to be the decorator here
Although, truth be told
He agreed in the end
I had to show him with the help of the staff
how the look would be together with all the
sinks, wcs, tiles,etc.
It would've been much easier if the decision
was all mine, haha
But marriage is always about compromise
and choosing which battles you want to win
Happy Sunday!

Busy Wednesday
Started with a Mass for Mama Mary's birthday
then did some organizing at home then at Wilcon
As soon as it opened!
After that chose some wallpaper designs
then home depot
then St. Luke's
then a children's party
then the site
then pick up kids
then teach catechism
finally home
Phew!
The only time I get to sit is when am in the car
But am not complaining
am actually amazed of the energy
I guess there's no better high
than loving life itself
Enjoy the last day of work for the week
Off to a Board Meeting!
Happy birthday, Mama Mary!

Weekend event
I was already at Wilcon at 9 in the morning
Meeting at the site
Covered an afternoon event
I usually wouldn't say yes to a weekend event
but venue was so near, I decided to go
Mingled a bit
Went home and so happy I can kick back and relax
My hubby came back today from out of town
Right away, we trekked to home depot and the site
Am really obsessed
This afternoon while we were watching
"He's Not That Into You"
My hubby noticed that my mind seemed to be far away
And yes, I was thinking of the site again
Making lists, making themes
The guy from Wilcon is now my best friend
Calling him up even on a Sunday
to follow up my orders
My hubby can't understand why I want different
kinds of WCs for every bathroom
I just want a different look
So am conceptualizing each one
Oh yea, the maid's bathroom is preppy
even excited about that!
Weekend's almost over
Start of another week
Christmas is so near...
Good night!

Long skirt
Today was spent mostly at the site
Told my construction team, am starting to feel physically tired
They're so supportive
Saying not to worry as I will enjoy the fruits of labor soon
I had trouble getting up this morning
My body was feeling the stress of standing, walking
in heels at that
I just had to tell myself
I have a goal, I have a goal
My husband laughed at me when he first heard that
But that's what I always do
When the body is weak
Can't let the spirit go in that direction too
Wearing a long skirt today
Old, old but I love that mid calf skirts
are making a comeback
Oh yea, the wallpaper people
also did measurements already
Am so excited!
And yes, I have my eyes set on the goal.
Happy weekend!

Setting it straight
The first issue which I contributed to is out
Town & Country's September issue
Wonder Women
Just wanted to correct
I graduated college from U.P.
Just took up certificate courses
in Moorhead State & UNLV
Don't want to mislead people
But sometimes, this happens
in editing
Also, when they asked about my favorite luxury ITEM
didn't want to go with the usual
though it was edited again why I said vintage Jag
It is because it's a preservation of a classic
the love, respect and effort that's put into it
Reason why it's good to have a blog
You can set things straight
Hope you get to get your September issue of
Town & Country
Luxury issue
Enjoy....

Chaperoning at Emphasis
on their last day
So I booked them for a make-over!
It's so much cheaper here anyway
but you get first class service
Haircut, hair coloring and the works
So while they were having their hair done
Haircut, hair coloring and the works
So while they were having their hair done
I was playing around with my camera
and decided, hey, I need an entry for my blog!
Here are just some images of a bored chaperone
to some twenty- year-olds
Am just glad their make-overs turned out great!
You just gotta love life in the Philippines!
