Fabric love

Love fabrics

They totally make the room

So choosing which is one of the major steps in planning to decorate

Since I need to reupholster

I got samples of fabrics which reflect our taste

But since our home is still such a work in progress

The whole thing need to look coherent with the other things coming in

Will show this tonight to Olivia so we can work better with her installation

Snuggle up, that's what rainy days are for.

Our powder room

The Art Has Been Replaced!

I blogged about this plywood provision months back

It is really very interesting how a lot of people

mistook it as art

Hmm, I should've sold it then, hahaha

Well, today, I covered that art

With something I need

Hard to brush teeth without seeing them

Finally, things are falling into place

I bet this time, this doesn't look like anything else but a mirror

Okay, it can be art in itself

Good might!

My day

my salon (the fan just got cleaned)

Was practically home the whole day

Except to pick up my son from school

Had delivery of shelves for powder room and boxes for the Aboriginal painting

I call the room in the 1st photo, salon or drawing room
I like giving the rooms in our house a unique, special, different name
Originally, it was called the den/guest room
But when we just moved, I literally woke up one morning
and just blurted out to my husband
Am gonna call the den "my salon"
At first, kids and hubby thought "what for?"
But now, that's the name of the room, salon

I called it that 'cause most stuff were souvenirs from Europe
and it's my girly place to decorate



Getting there, might be slowly but will get there...

I'm re-decorating

Got a new plant, the scroll bench not supposed to be there, was re-decorating and moving things

As early as 7 this morning, I already called the maintenance guy

to help move around things

As my husband was leaving, he asked

"What are you doing?"

"Am re-decorating", was my reply

To which before he kissed goodbye said,

"We're not even finished decorating and you're already re-decorating"

Hahahaha, he should've known , am always 2 steps forward.

Ahh, the difference between men & women.

Slowly, things are getting delivered and organized.

Had some recycled boxes made for the children's room.

Well, finally, after 2 months of waiting, they installed today!

Place is so dusty 'cause they had to fit and saw on site

But I think worth the wait

Though, I still have several window shutters to be done

And might be finished in 4 months

At least I got one to be delivered and finished already!

Was just lounging in my son's room the other day
and figured I don't have anything for everydayflair yet
Should I just change it to weekly flair? hahaha

Anyhow, saw how graphic the lamp and shutters looked and liked it

Was in Fully Booked Thursday and Friday for their store sale Guess how lucky I was to get this Carolyn Roehm book for just a little over 500 pesos!!! I just love her style! I'm gonna go read now...

Our house is still incomplete
but everyday, we slowly get there

I can't wait to start my garden

just have a few right now but I already know how am going to design it

It's just different how you wake up to blue skies and all that greens

Uplifts your spirit right away

Here are my babies

I take more than a 100 steps up and down to water them

Yea, my secret to staying thin

But no biggie

Cause I love seeing them thrive

There's my own secret garden.

Art without a face

It's interesting how art nowadays can just be anything
Art, is one of the interesting pleasures in life, and, more interestingly, it's subjective, so they say

I love life
I love people
I am the type who never lets a day pass without learning something from the most mundane to the most essential
Let me just share with you how funny and interesting that this plywood provision I have for my mirror was , on several instances, mistaken as art
Well, mistaken , if that is the right word, but then again, art is everywhere

Even more so, 2 of those people who thought they were art were artists
Highly regarded even
They thought that this plywood was art and they even liked it!
Kinda like Emperor's New Clothes childhood story
One even suggested that just keep it the way it is
Love it
Love it that it just says so much about art nowadays
Love that people see things differently
Love that you can make people see anything if they already have a preconceived notion about you
Love that beauty abounds in the eyes of the beholder no matter how simple it is

So, there's my temporary art
Wonder how Sotheby's will regard it

Signs you're way too involved in your own construction when...

For months, I breathe the construction, my waking and sleeping hours
my conscious and subconscious
So, I decided to put some humor in and share what I've been going through these past months

Signs you're way too invloved in your own construction...

1. Somebody asks you, "Ma'm, did you perm your hair? It's nice, it's wavy"
To which you reply, "No, I just came from the site when I just shampooed , hence, the dust settling on the hair made it wavy"

2. Every person you meet, whether stranger or otherwise, would hear your non stop stories about the developments of your construction

3. When your construction worker, the one who installs the tiles in your bathroom, asks you to be godmother to his child

4. When what you're going to feed them at your thank you party, you need to call several people for advice on the kind of food they'll enjoy

5. When the people befriending you on facebook and you confirming are the sales people in Wilcon

6. When you start giving advices to the sales people in Wilcon & Home depot and give inspiring messages since you feel you have a bond with them

7. When you know their life stories and shed tears because the nicest one there who's always happy to serve you lost his mom at such an early age and his stepmom doesn't care and how they're not regulars and would end contract before Christmas

8. When since you know this fact, you ask for their resumes and try to find them a better future

9. When even when your eyes are closed and your hubby is apparently watching you, asks you, okay , what have you decided for the hanging artpiece? Gosh, how does he know that's what I was thinking???

10. And the number 1 sign you are way too involved and obsessed, you can't stop blogging about it!!!
