A gift from the best

Remember when I posted this book wanting it for Valentine's Day? Well, I got a different gift but this morning, when I woke up, my kids were ready with their surprise gift.

They gave me a card which I'd like to keep for my eyes only.

And a dedication on the book which I feel I want to share.

"May all your birthdays be an event to remember".

Thank you, my babies.

And yes, thank you for the wishes.

Love to you always.

Thank you for being the best and biggest event in my life.

The day before

the vibe in Dangwa

Since am the eventologist for this woman's 40th birthday, oh yeah, that woman's me, had to go early in the morning to the flower market.

Not much traffic so was kinda cool and easy.

Warning: One might go overboard as prices are so inexpensive.

A day before or last day of my 30's

Counting the hours to the big day

Am so excited, busy, and grateful

Can't believe it's been 4 decades already

I've learned a lot

And looking forward to even learning more

I even wonder why some aren't proud of their age

Every year has been earned

Every year another blessing and growth

And every year another celebration

Can't wait!

Early bird

Got another surprise package yesterday.

Thank you, Anne, for your early gift.
Have not opened yet as I am waiting for the day.
Thank you for your thoughtfulness.
I feel blessed.

Kea ballerina

had to join the kids and line up for my tattoo

w/ Jackie, mom of the bday girl

Attended the birthday party of my godchild, Kea, ballet theme.
As am game, I interpreted it with leggings, tight leotard-like top, sweater around the waist and the headband.

Oh yea, had to join the beeline for the tattoo. Too bad, the star design was taken by a 3 year-old, whatever happened to senior rights, haha.

A couple of days, gotta sleep, gotta get me some of its good dose.

Nighty night!

Look who's knocking

Today was maintenance day.

Brought my son to the dentist for the semi-annual cleaning.

Then went to my derma for my monthly facial.

What I like about my derma is that she genuinely cares for my skin.

It helps that she was a high school friend and we've known each other for more than 25 years.

Alright, so am making sure 40 doesn't come creeping unexpectedly.

I have way, way back prepared for its arrival.

So prepared that it might say, oooppps, will come back in another 20, haha.

Enjoy your Friday....

You lift me up!

Okay, okay, so I've been slacking from my posts. Friends have asked me why I haven't been posting. My answer, I'm tired to post and pose, haha. So, despite my disheveled look here, I had to ask my son to quickly take my photo while am being lifted from the ground up (I was inside the lift, get it?)
I am in the height of my 40th birthday preps. While some people hire coordinators, I am the person I hired. Being OC, no one can do the job for me or they might quit, haha.
Met with my cake designer today, Peachy Juban. She's very busy but was glad she found time to come over and accommodate me. She was a schoolmate and same batch, am so happy when the people I work with are not strangers to me.
Am trying to fix everything to make sure I can relax on the day itself.
Few days to the big 40, if I was excited before, am starting to get nervous now, haha.
But one thing remains the same,
can't wait!

Who's that girl?

Wow, I got another cool surprise today.
I had a very quiet day, I was cleaning/organizing my closet. Those who know me know I do this regularly. I don't have clutter, both in and out.
When I got home, I got a package and was quite surprised. It was the photo taken by Mark Nicdao for the Culte Crazy Event last Sept. 9, 2009. I was honored to be one of Hindy's muses.
Thanks a lot, Hinds, for this beautiful, thoughtful gift.
As I've said in my text, you still haven't told me, who's this gorgeous woman??? hahaha
Thank you again and to my friends, keep the surprises coming, hahaha.
Hey, easy guys, my birthday's still in 2 weeks!

Unexpected gift

This was the necklace I got from my neighbor, Anna Rufino.
Just wanted to share how it was one of the perks of my day.
We were shopping yesterday, told her I liked the necklace and she bought it for me!
Whoa!
Nice surprise!
Though I really like the necklace, it was much more than that.
She wanted me to have it, it was the gesture that touched me most.
And all I can say is, thanks, Anna!

Ebony and Ivory

love the piping detail on the shirt and the cutwork detail on the shorts
photo credit : Anna Palabyab- Rufino
One of my favorite combinations is black and white. I love how fresh white looks and how black complements it and vice versa.
Both look elegant in a totally different way.
Got a necklace from my neighbor, Anna. Thank you for the lovely necklace.
It deserves a post on everydayflair.
2 weeks to my birthday, hmmm, I think, am the only person I know who's excited about getting older.
I never outgrew that excitement.
Hope your week's turning out to be on the good side. Smile, no matter how tired you are. Less stress on your face and good for the heart.
'Til tomorrow!

Happy Monday!

Pardon the blurry and unsmiling photos, we were going out for lunch and had to quickly ask to have my photo taken, just so I won't have a backlog in my blog, haha.
Start of the week.
Am organizing a lot of things.
My 40th
Building a house
Kids' activities
Plus all the extra curriculars I have
I love it!!!
I always find such thrill in planning, weird, huh?
Love it everytime I put a check in my things to do.
Am not someone to procrastinate
Am slowly seeing my vision come to place
Have a good week ahead, may it be productive and fruitful
Remember, what keeps you busy, should make you happy
Enjoy...

A different kind of bread

Today was my son's 1st Holy Communion.
Very touching and solemn

One of those moments when you reminisce the past, look at what's infront of you and start thinking about the future

So many momentous moments in a person's life
So many memories to make
So many already in the bank
Am glad we keep filling it up
one more precious than the other
Some simple, some momentous
But all make up the kind of person one becomes

Congratulations to all the 1st Communicants!
Keep the bread alive in you!

Repercussions of the day that was

Had an easy day today. Heard Mass then went to City hall to pick up something then Rockwell then home then meeting at my son's school , home, then went to the parlor then home then went out to dinner with a friend.
Been quiet lately, no excuses, been busy and tired and really disappointed and frustrated with the turn out of elections.
What to do?
I hope progress will come to this country.
And peace
And a more intelligent electorate
who'll treat their votes with respect
but even more so that people care enough to go out and vote
I know several who opted not to
To each his own, as they say
But then again, aren't we all connected?
I hope for honest leaders with substance
Who will lead and inspire
Wonder when this day will come
That's why I've been quiet
Am affected
Been thinking of how the majority still think
Hope all turns out well
C'est la vie!

Voted interest

Rockin' the huge shirt, folded the sleeves and tied a knot at one side though this was kinda disheveled at this time already
Hubby, by the way, told me when I got home, I like you in a t-shirt, hmmm, what does that mean??? I hear quit shopping, haha.
Location : North Forbes Polls
So, this is me today, woke up at 5 a.m. then had to be at the polls by 6 a.m.
Was pretty good since it was airconditioned.
Even saw a lot of friends.
Where I was assigned, everything was efficient and fast.
Not so in the other counters and precincts.
Was a great experience, and yes, I'll do it again.
Least I could do for my country.
Though I have 2 citizenships now.
It's still the land of my birth.
Forever I'll have an obligation to it.
I could only hope for the best.

Paparazzi in love

Some shots taken by my hubby when we had our little get away in Macau.
Most, 3 out of 4 ,were candid shots.
Thank you, honey, for capturing my best angles, hahaha.
Thank you for those two best kids in the world.
Thank you for helping me become the best Mom/person I could be.
Thank you for the Mother's Day gifts.
Thank you for the wonderful life we share.
Oh wait, it's Mother's Day not Father's Day.
Can't you wait til June???
Happy Mom's Day to all the Moms out there!
Have a great one!

Don't Rock the Vote

our official uniform on May 10

Started my day with the celebration for Moms in my son's school.
Then went home, did a bit of answering e-mails, picked up my son then had my foot spa. Afterwhich, went to have my annual check-up.
Then attended the briefing for the poll watchers.
Am going to make this post light, as there's already too much going on with the elections.
My husband was teasing me about the shirt am wearing as a poll watcher, I don't usually wear big shirts, or t-shirts, for that matter. Shirts were even one size fits all!!!
I told him, "I'll make poll watching stylish"
So, attended the briefing with the team leader saying, no make up, no jewelry, in other words, be as plain as possible.
So, here's the shirt and I will defiitely post how I will look that day.
Though am praying so hard for this country to elect the right leader,
giving my time to protect our votes,
Whatever happens, I think, more than the leaders, the citizens need to change habits, as well.
One person cannot do it.
The President will really need our help if we want a good change.
Bless the Philippines!

Hippie Chic!

Thank you to my neighbor, Anna Rufino for the lovely hoops.

retro theme for Moms' Day at my son's school

Spent the morning with a Mothers' Day celebration at my son's school.
Theme was retro, 60's, 70's, 80's.

Now that I am a Mom, I understand Moms.

Why they would get mad at petty things.
Why they would tell everyone our achievements.

Why they would tell their friends what's happening with their children's lives.

Why they're so protective.

Why?

Because they're moms.

Because, now, WE are moms.

Chosen to love beyond ourselves.

Chosen to care and raise good human beings

Chosen to mould children into admirable adults.

Chosen to always give.

Chosen to be a hero in our child's eyes.

And it sure feels great to be chosen.

3 -in- 1

Attended 2 of my godchildren's combined birthday party plus their 1st cousin's whose parents are friends of ours in Bangkok.
Fun, hot day.
When you see children get older then you know time flies so fast.
I love birthdays, always a celebration of thanksgiving.
Happy birthday to Ianne, Sandro & Matthew!
Cheers from Ninang!
