My garden of delight
my beautiful plants
I've always loved plants
Probably got it from my Mom
She's the one with the green thumb
Am not exaggerating, she can make a dead plant come back to life
If you know what I mean
Despite a lot of other stuff that we need to prioritize with our new home
I can't wait to start my garden
just have a few right now but I already know how am going to design it
It's just different how you wake up to blue skies and all that greens
Uplifts your spirit right away
Here are my babies
I take more than a 100 steps up and down to water them
Yea, my secret to staying thin
But no biggie
Cause I love seeing them thrive
There's my own secret garden.
Go green!
Snippets of our weekend
Thanks to long weekends
Who's the mature one?
the waiter took this pic and almost cut my head off!
the teen years
My next project is my garden
It's a long weekend in Manila
EDSA Revolution anniversary
Wow, been quarter of a century already
I still remember that back in high school
Anyway, since we've been so preoccupied building our new place
Kids clamored to go out of town
Yeah, we always enjoy road trips
Just the drive and breathing fresh air
My eldest wanted to go to Tagaytay to buy fruits
I wanted to just go out of the city
So, off we went to the easiest spot to take a breather
Tried out this restaurant owned by a German in Tagaytay
It's Chateau Hestia
Rustic place
Hubby had schnitzel
while kids had pizza
So nice to just be in a space filled with greenery
and quiet
Though I'm a city girl
I do enjoy trips to the country side
It's rejuvenating and inspiring
I think when am older
I would like to have a place in the country
Just to revive and escape from the modernity of it all
My next project is my garden
Looking forward to waking up with the greens
We're blessed to have a view of the mountains and river
Despite being in the center of business
Will post my plants one of these days
Am slowly nurturing them
Lovely how you see them thrive and grow
My new babies
Enjoy the weekend!
Just Another Soccer Mom
My fave read, always look forward to reading this
I'm a soccer mom
I'm a basketball mom
I'm a tennis mom
I'm a tae kwon do mom
I'm a varsity mom
Yeah, a lot of your identity suddenly loses when you enter motherhood
Well, in ways such as, you are called the mom of ____
Or like my sched has to accommodate my children's activites first and I am blessed to do things which respect that
Here I was
On a Wednesday afternoon
as I didn't have CCD class
Watched my son play soccer
He's a varsity player in school
So you can imagine the time he spends playing soccer
Official and not-so-official
Every afternoon, we would play soccer together
He laughs at how he can always steal the ball from me
And I know he treats me as a girl when playing
If you know what I mean
He's very gentle and tries not to hurt my ego
though I am no match for him
I do enjoy learning from him
Though I am not so athletic
I am good at giving moral support
Just like what all moms do
I can't wait to cheer for the first game!
Art without a face
It's interesting how art nowadays can just be anything
Art, is one of the interesting pleasures in life, and, more interestingly, it's subjective, so they say
I love life
I love people
I am the type who never lets a day pass without learning something from the most mundane to the most essential
Let me just share with you how funny and interesting that this plywood provision I have for my mirror was , on several instances, mistaken as art
Well, mistaken , if that is the right word, but then again, art is everywhere
Even more so, 2 of those people who thought they were art were artists
Highly regarded even
They thought that this plywood was art and they even liked it!
Kinda like Emperor's New Clothes childhood story
One even suggested that just keep it the way it is
Love it
Love it that it just says so much about art nowadays
Love that people see things differently
Love that you can make people see anything if they already have a preconceived notion about you
Love that beauty abounds in the eyes of the beholder no matter how simple it is
So, there's my temporary art
Wonder how Sotheby's will regard it
Enjoy your abstracts!

Just got lucky!
Christmas has passed, New Year's, Chinese New Year's, Valentine's Day and I only get to blog now. As I have mentioned before , computer's broken but for some luck, it's intermittently working, and the only person who could make it work is my eldest.
I had to make an effort to write this morning 'cause when my hubby came home from an event last night, he said, someone told him, they miss my blog.
Another comment I got from the husband of my friend, "hey, my wife misses your posts".
Even the nurse in my son's school wonders why there are no updates. So here I am, on a Saturday morning, making extra effort before I go to the carwash day at my son's school then Art in the Park.
My hubby and I are not techie people so we're planning to change to MAC but we're relying on our 2 boys to help us understand the applications, haha.
Last entry I promised to write down my friends' reactions and comments on our new place but maybe later, I kinda forgot most of the comments, hahaha, except those that they sent thru text.
Anyway, went to a press conference yesterday with Nacho Figueras as the guest, the Ralph Lauren model/polo player. Don't really know what I was doing there as I cover the society pages , well, what can I say, I guess it's meant to be for Nacho & myself. Heard that as per Vanity Fair, he's second to Brad Pitt as the most handsome man. I must say, he looks better on screen, it's when he moves that he gets more interesting. Again, it's really the personality that makes the man.
Enough of that, this week, I also attended "Are you smarter than a 4th grader" in my son' s school. Was a lot of fun being with the co-parents and the kids , as always, kids outsmarted the parents. Funny thing was, the parents were more nervous than the kids, hey, they're living the 4th grade life, hence, still fresh in their minds whereas how long ago was 4th grade? ahmmm, yeah! those __ decades ago. We didn't do bad though.
Thing was, students get to choose which parents they want to be partners with, and yea, those without parents, well, I got chosen several times, which I jokingly added, "I was never a wallflower". Needless to say, but yea, I want to say it, I did give all the right answers, of course, us parents coached each other.
When my son got home, I asked him, why did your classmates choose me? He goes, I don't know, I was telling them not to choose you anymore but apparently his seatmate told him, they all like your mom, awww, isn't that cool to be hip, hahaha.
One classmate of my son even made me in one of their school projects his hero, go figure! My son said when they were doing this project, you know , Mom, ____ also made you one of his heroes. To my surprise.
What's the essence of all my blah blah talk? It's the analysis again that just when you think you're just living your life , you don't know how many people you affect. Just by saying hello to someone and giving a smile, you don't know how much the other end appreciates this.
Simple things, effortless things but turned great when the heart is in it.
