Love thy neighbor

 the boys enjoying their drinks
with Anna, Cat, Loralee & Mikey

Just before we left for HK (HK na naman)
Our old neighbors and good friends, Raymond & Anna hosted an intimate dinner for their
friends
I miss having them next door
We had such a fun time living on the same floor that when I see their kids, I miss not seeing them (Stefano was the only baby then) do their routines

I am just glad that these two know how to keep and nurture friendships.

Thanks for the wonderful dinner, guys!

Catch up soon!

Our painting class's Thanksgiving dinner

before guests arrive

Though we're in the Philippines and not Americans

Our painting class decided to celebrate Thanksgiving

It's a week early since several will be travelling out of the country

I think it's a good tradition to have a special day to give thanks

for the past year

Since I am the one they never ask to bring any food to class

As they always tease me I would just bother my chef husband

I decided to host a thanksgiving dinner

as my thank you for our class

And of course, I did bother my husband, hahaha...

More on the next post...

Nest

outdoor dining at Nest

We got 2 beds at Nest, 1 for my hubby & myself, another one for the kids

on the way to dinner at Nest

This doesn't belong to this post, I just like it, haha

On our first day in Siem Reap

We had dinner at Nest, a few blocks away from Hotel dela Paix

It was nice lounging outside

Food was not bad

What's interesting is everytime we travel

I just get to thinking how all these remote places

Alright, technically, not that remote as it's a tourist spot

for one of the wonders of the world

but you know what I mean

They have nice restaurants

which have distinct personalities

I miss that in Manila

So, when in Siem Reap

Try out Nest

People were so pleasant too

Despite their not- so- pleasant past

And that, I think, is one of Cambodia's treasures

A-ha

Notice the fancy tuk-tuk of dela Paix, it's slipcovered!

on the way to A-ha, sister restaurant of Meric (Hotel dela Paix's restaurant)

birthday girl at 41

apples of my eye

Alright so I skipped several things we did but this is the easier blog, haha

Just sharing with you my birthday dinner at A-ha

A sister restaurant of the dela Paix's Meric

Khmer food, not really for me, but part of traveling is absorbing the culture

More importantly the Cambodian people are really pleasant and nice

It's like I felt we're royalty the way they treated us

In my family, my 3 boys really treat my birthday special

Well, I demand that from them, haha

Not frankly but in so many quiet ways, hahaha

They call June my birthday month

Oh well, I guess I've trained them well.

They're probably thinking

Thank goodness it only happens once a year!

after dinner, kids slept and hubby & I strolled through the hotel

Teasers

our appetizer : scallops , my youngest helped in slicing and preparing/plating this

main course

Okay, since my hubby doesn't like me taking photos of food

Had to sneak in these photos

It helps when you have a top chef in your kitchen

He gets to work while you entertain the guests, haha

Enjoy...

Fab dinner with friends

this is me after the party

after party

We hosted a dinner last night for the godparents of my son in Confirmation
Was really a fabulous time being around people you like

And intellectual people whom you can converse with

With just about anything

Sharing thoughts, ideas and learning from their different fields of expertise

We weren't able to take photos as we were involved with the gastronomic delights

prepared by my husband

So these are just the photos I can share

I hope you sort of get a glimpse of the fun we had...

Happy Monday!
