My mom's gown!

after the wedding last Tuesday

2 years ago at the Romeo & Juliet ballet, CCP

I figured this gown deserves a post as it was my Mom's gown in the 70's

She wore it to my coronation (yeah, yeah, laugh now)

as Little Queen of our Parish

and 36 years after, the fabric still looks good 

Quality of most of the things before are really better

I had it re-worked by my modiste

It used to be a loose cowl neck

I had her make it one-sided and added the beads

We also trimmed down the sides to give it shape

And of course, my Mom always feels happy when I tell her I wore it to

somewhere special

Now, that's true blue upcycling!

Last Thursday, I got a real nice and a real surprise from jeweller, Kristine Dee
I only met her once when I covered her event almost 2 years ago, I think
and I was so surprised when she texted and asked for my address and sent me what she wrote about

I am super touched with kind and thoughtful gestures such as this one
And also humbled how small moments, candid conversations affect others

I am humbled how people have often told me how my ways, blog,  actions,  words and  life have affected them positively
I am humbled and honoured
And please know that this is not about me
but living our life to glorify the One up there

In fact, another friend of mine just signed up to teach too!!!
I am so happy for her and know that it will change her life and others' tremendously

It can get taxing at times, tiring
But always, always, fulfilling
And though I sometimes feel the stress
I know that when I say no, I would regret it

Thank you, Krisitne and for touching me with this sweetest, unexpected gesture of yours.

The past week in focus

My earliest birthday celebration

Since my birthday is in 3 weeks already

My co-parents decided to treat me to a pre-birthday dim sum buffet at Shang Palace

They're good friends of mine who are quietly in my life and they're the ones I talk to about my children, their children, being a mom

Though we try to avoid talking about it all the time

Conversations just go back to our, yes, children!

As I get older

I become more discriminating with the people I spend time with

And also the kind of celebration that I want

Eversince I was 16, I have been honoured with friends giving me surprise parties

or throwing get togethers on my behalf

Last year was Lillian with their Assumption group and Maureen Soong with our painting group

I am really blessed to have such wonderful friends

This year, I still don't know if I will have my usual party

Though I have promised my painting classmates that I will host them

Me not knowing if I'm going to have a birthday party???

Man, I MUST be getting old!

Have a good week ahead and vote for the TRULY, 100% HONEST ONE

I am a devout soccer mom!

That's right!
I'm in all the tournaments, may it be on a weekend, my sacred Sundays, trainings after school, tournaments
far and wherever, I am there.
Supporting, cheering, loving,  Under the heat.  Rain or shine.  WIn or lose.

My son recently joined the FCBEscola camp which was held last April in Ayala Alabang by real FCB coaches.  Since there's still school, we trekked everyday after school and came home late.  Life of an athlete.  Life of an athlete's mom.
I wouldn't have it any other way.

Hope you watch the video,  Curtis is the one playing with the ball on his thighs at around 3:08 of the video.  Haha, very fast and short but hope you catch him.  You can see and feel the love for the game.
