More of The Emperor

Well obviously, I am still feeling my way through this new computer and how to blog with it as my previous post was quite challenging with the attachment of photos.

Please click on the photos in the previous post to view accurately.

Hope this time, it works out better, if not, I'll get there through practice, hahaha.

Everytime we travel, I try to book us in a boutique hotel, preferably in Small Luxury Hotel properties, very personal, great interiors, personal service,my type of place to vacation in.  The family always enjoys the hotels I book us in and it just heightens the experience of the new place.

Here are more shots of where to stay in Beijing...

Beijing - Where to Stay - The Emperor Hotel, SLH (Small Luxury Hotel)

As soon as we arrived, we had dinner at the hotel's rooftop restaurant
I still remember the taste of this soup, yummy!

I would love to eat this again!

Future

My eldest son's homework a few weeks back was about writing poetry, topic the Future, using similes, metaphors, analogies, etc, etc
While he was typing, I decided to write one too
Mine did not turn out as well written, and impressive as his was, but I did this in less than a minute, ahem, ahem, and just for the fun of it
would like to share with you...

Enjoy my attempt at poetry...

Future

Like an unexpected gift
Wrapped nicely in a bow
Or randomly so

The future is a mystery
Always enchanting and scary
Will it be awesome
or just plain cumbersome

N one knows
No one sees
But everyone has a chance to shape
What the future holds
So let it be...

Enjoy the rest of the week!

New Year's Eve with the Laudicos, Roland, Jackie, Orlando at Baguio Country Club

at the Manor with J & C and Orlando Laudico covering his face

We were invited to spend New Year's with the Laudicos in Baguio
Always easy and fun
First time to spend New Year's Eve there
Noticed how Manilenos were everywhere
We bumped into people we know from the Church to the restos we've eaten to the country club

Here's to a bright, peaceful, joyful New Year ahead!

When women need a break

a candid shot of my Mom

My sister with our long time helper

Served them turkey courtesy of Chef Wenger

Another dinner I traditionally host after Christmas is that for the women in our family
That includes my Mom, sister, and 2 sisters-in-law
It's a nice and intimate time to catch up as Christmas eve the boys rule (for them anyway, haha) and it's nice to give the women a break

Served them turkey with vegetables, yummy cranberry sauce and mashed potatoes and made the dessert of fruit salad (my Mom's recipe)

Enjoy the photos and have a good week ahead!
